Population Weighted Regional Summaries

Summaries are population weighted scores aggregated across all block groups in MSA and Urban Cores for different access measures, dates, and socioeconomic groups. Data is in CSV format.

Note: Data issues may be influencing the low-cost fare access measures. Until we can resolve this issue, we caution against using the low-cost fare access metrics. If you have cited or used the low-cost fare data previously, we cannot verify its accuracy. Please contact [email protected] with questions.

Acccess and Transit Scores

Access and transit scores (and the shareable map URLs) use a unique code to identify the parameter configuration being measured:

[opportunity]_[parameter]_[period]_[autoFlag]_[fareFlag]

Where period is one of AM (weekday morning peak), PM (weekday evening), or WE (weekend). Transit service column names are in the form los_trips_[period], where period is one of WKD for a weekday measure and SAT for a Saturday measure. The table below provides a reference for the other various options in the score keys. You can refer to the how it works page for more detail on the scores.

A gravity-based accessibility measure that uses a continuous decay function to weight opportunities based on how quickly they can be reached. These scores are represented with the paremeter nexp. These scores are not included in the summary data as they are not used in the story page.
